Formation & Tactics

I am going to start with a 4-1-3-2 formation using fairly conservative instructions to start the season. I want to play it safe and get a feel for the squad before I give use much of an attacking formation.

I am using Pavlyuchecko as a target man and will be feeding him with balls in the air.

My instructions are to use a slightly defensive mentality and not take too many chances. I am giving fairly high creative freedom to all my players however.

  1. I'll be honest, I think the cautious approach and tactics will hurt you. Incidentally I now play a similar formation to yours, the only difference (new arrow meanings aside) is I have a CM with an arrow back and an AM.

I see your team passing it along defence and midfield then struggling to create a flowing attack due to the gap, I say a faster game is need and it can be a case of attack being the best form of defence!

  2. Oh also your wingers have the same defensive mentality as most of the team which means the two strikers could be marooned.
